sailing around the world argument

Sailing around the world

I am not sure that sailing around the world with your family would be a good idea because there isn't a doctor on board and that means if you get sick there is nothing you can do plus you need to travel a long way to get a doctor.

On the other hand you get to go to other countries and learn about new things and even eat new things that you have never seen before!

However you have limited food and the bad thing about limited food is if you get lost you can run out of food and starve until you get to a island.

One good thing about it would be you get a chance to do lots of fishing and catch new fishes that you haven't seen before.

Nevertheless you will have too much mum and dad plus when theres only the same people you get bored easily and you would rather be with your friends right now.

Another point of view is there will be one long holiday and no school, the good thing about it is that you don't have too do homework and all other annoying things.

In conclusion I have told you good and bad things about sailing around the world now do you want to sail or stay home?

In the classroom we have been learning how to write a balanced argument and we were reading a book about a family traveling around the world on a boat so we though of making a balanced argument based on it.

Number Talk

7821-3462=

Strategies: 7821                                    7000-3000=4000

                - 3462   = algerozem              800-400=400

                  4359                                     20-60=-40           = place value

                                                               1-2=-1

                                                               4000+400=4400

                                                               4400 - -60=4340

                                                               4340 - -1=4359

This is a number talk and somethings we do it in class in the morning. Basicly a number talk is were someone writes a equation and you all write as many strategies as you can. After a while you take turns writing strategies up on the board so if you didn't write a strategie that is on the board you can go and ask the person how to do it. So its basicly learning new strategies.

Obituary for Lesile

On 1997 16th of June a girl called Lesile died no drowned at the creek near her house. It was all so sudden. By the info we collected we are sure that the branch that was connected to the rope snapped and then she hit her head on a rock and after she hit her head she fell into the river and even though she can swim the water level was too high. The school she went to was Lark Creek Elementary and she was a fifth grader and she was 10 years old. According to the teachers at Lark Creek Elementary she was nice and kind person.

In the classroom we were learning how to write an obituary of a person and the purpose of a obituary is to say what they did good, what they achieved and what they did to change other people. so we chose the character from a book called the bridge to terabithia and the character was Lesile. The reason that we chose Lesile was 1: was that she died 2: was because we know how she died.

Tonal Landscapes

We were learning to make distance by using colour.  This is my Tonal Landscape and the technique I used was tonal modelling. Tonal modelling is a colour going lightest to darkest or darkest to lightest.

Monet's Art

This painting is a art work based on a technique Monet created. This art work is made out of different techniques. One of the techniques I used was masking tape, I used this technique for the fence thats why it looks pretty neat.Another technique was drawing the horizon line(the part where the sky meets the ground).  The technique I used for the grass was sponge painting and for the sky was drag and draging is basicly putting panit on a cardboard then draging it across the page and letting the paint mix on the page. The technique I used for the pond was flicking so all you have to do is put white on one side and blue on the other side and the last step is to flick it. I also used sponge painting for the bushes and footpath. The technique I used for the flowers was dotting so you use the back of the paint brush and then put paint on the back of the paint brush now you can dot.

Impact on the marine life

How the impact of litter effects the marine life.
Littering is started when people don't think ahead. Think about it some people litter for no reason I think the reason for this is because they have no proper idea how much impact of plastic litter
has been cast on the poor marine animals. Many animals has died of plastic littering.

Firstly the plastic is started in your hand however you might feel lazy so you don't put it in the bin or your pocket. Thats when you don't think ahead and the impact of not thinking ahead is when it rains the plastic will get washed down the drain however the drain is connect to the sea so thats how it gets out to sea. And how it gets out to a marine animal stomach is by marine animals mistaking it for food. The plastic will fill up the marine animals stomach plus the plastic can't get digest nor get biodegraded.

Secondly some people think one piece of rubbish won't do any harm but if everyone dropped one piece it will be big bags of rubbish. Its time you hear this: little pieces of rubbish do more damage than big pieces of rubbish and its because smaller pieces are easier to swallow.

Thank you for reading my explanation and I hope you will stop littering.

We were learning to write a explanation and this is a explanation of how plastics impact our marine animals. It was easy because I had a lot of information and it was pretty hard to put it all together.
